IDGOMB, Groundhog Day Edition 2/2/09

Now is not the time for me to slack!  I have FINALLY, after 4 months, I have dropped the 10% weight loss that Blue Cross requires.  But I'd love to be in the 230s by the time surgery rolls around.

Plus I want to keep my exercise habit for life, so just because I met one goal does not give me an excuse to revert to my old habits.  So moving, it is!

Today--so far:  gave it some extra oomph on the elliptical this morning with some especially peppy music . . . I did about 2800 strides in 30 minutes.  Even though I was so excited to go to the clinic that I almost took the bus, I went the delayed gratification route and walked in.  It took longer, but will do more for me in the long run.  That was 20 minutes or so of walking, plus the walk to my office from the clinic, and I'm already up to 6413.  I want 10K before the day is done.

Tomorrow--goals:  10K+ steps, 30 minutes elliptical

Okay, y'all!  What have you done for exercise today?  NEXT!

 Whoohoo! great job Denise!

I have so far today walked down the block to the bus stop. Went to the doctors office and parked way out in the parking lot so I had to walk some more. Tonight I will be working at least 4 hours.

Tomorrow I will hit the gym in the morning after I get the kids on the bus.

Thanks, Gidget!  The Monday I thought would never arrive!

Now why couldn't we have had yesterday's weather for today's walking???  I'm sure the bus drop walk would be much more comfortable that way!  (I have seen a neighbor drive a kid ONE HOUSE away to the bus stop.  Wow.)  I definitely should have gotten off my butt yesterday to enjoy that weather, but for some reason I didn't.  Well, aside from doing laundry and dragging the dogs in when they were barking.

Enjoy all that lifting and placing of products at work, but don't forget to stretch those muscles!

Have fun at work!

WooHoo Congratz on the 10%!!

As far as exercise today, we didn't have school, but Connor and I have walked to my parent's house twice now, and I'll be on my bike later (I'm up to 7 miles!)

 Thanks, Amy!

Maaaan, you guys are going to be in school till July at this rate!   Meanwhile, we are all trapped at work because all the snow waits till it hits the Plateau to do its thing.

At least it sounds like you and Connor are making the most of it!   Maybe I should give my bike another try.  I got it nearly 30 pounds ago . . . maybe it won't hurt my fanny nearly as much as it used to.  Probably not enough less to get me anywhere near a whopping 7 miles, though!

Hee hee, I said fanny!

Kick back and enjoy your day and hit the bike, or else . . . we'll send more snow!

HUGS!!

Congrats on the 10%.  Keep up the good work!

Today I rode the bike for 35 minutes, and walked up my driveway in the snow.  It is 1/3 mile long and rises 400 feet from the road.  I think that is probably equivalent to walking a mile.

At least a mile!  I bet it's a good butt workout walking up that driveway, Marilyn!  I don't even think I can imagine a 400 foot incline in that short a distance!  Wow!

Thanks on the congrats--I thought it would never get here, but I guess 24 pounds in 4 months is not horrible (29.5 pounds total).  Of course if I had been more meticulous abou****ching what I ate, I would have been there sooner, but I remember your really good post about perfectionism.  Good enough is good enough!

Okay, between you and Amy I have got to drag my bike out.   You cycling gals are convincing me to give it another try!

Sounds like you had a great workout--keep it up!!!
